Overview | Fishing | Fishing | Fishing | Wingshooting | Wingshooting | Wingshooting | View on Map Patagonia Trout Fishing The unforgettable adventure begins with the exotic culture and flavor of Buenos Aires. Then off to the real adventure where majestic rivers, quaint villages and fantastic fishing are complemented by unmatched comfort and fine dining. Come join us in Argentina.
Trout Fishing in the Lake District: We are very excited in presenting the new program alternatives for trout fishing in the Northern Lake District of Patagonia for the 2004 / 2005 season. Traditionally most itineraries are based in one place from where to go fishing. This season we offer 3 itineraries for the same price that will give you the ability to cover more of this great area and experience three different fishing zones in one trip. Whichever you chose, it will seamlessly schedule every fishing day in your preferred itinerary.
1.San Martin program: This is our standard package for those who want the “in town” activities after fishing. Excellent lodging and restaurants San Martin has to offer.
2.San Martin and Alumine: This program combines the famous waters of the San Martin / Junin area with the waters of the north area of Alumine. Fish rivers like the Pulmari and Quillen and a great day float thru the Alumine River.
3.San Martin, Alumine and float camp night: This program combines the famous waters of the San Martin / Junin area with the less crowded waters of the Pulmari and Quillen Rivers of the north area and a great 2 day float thru the Alumine River. Imagine waking up by the river ready to fish!
Our interpretation of your best day on the river does not include several other fishermen. In Patagonia it's likely that the only other fishermen you will see on the river are those you bring along.
In addition to the rivers and lakes mentioned above, your guide may take you to remote, virtually unexplored waters where fish have never seen an imitation fly with opportunities to hook bows and browns at 5 to 10 pounds.
During prime season it is likely that your guide will give you several options of where you would like to fish on a day-to-day basis. The Lake district of Patagonia is the territory that Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid chose as their place of escapes.
THE GUIDES: All of our guides have several years of guiding experience and know the waters of their area intimately. Many of them are actually the equivalent of North American fish and game officers (Guarda de Pesca). They will assess your desires and abilities to provide you the best opportunities for success. You will enjoy their friendly companionship and insight they provide about the local culture, history wildlife and geography of Patagonia. Though all of the guides speak good to excellent English, it would enhance your experience to try your best at Spanish. All Argentines will respect your effort to speak their native language and will embrace you as their guest.
HOW IS THE FISHING THERE? As it turns out, this is one of the best places in the world to escape with your fly rod. The associated National Parks are situated in Northwest Patagonia in the heart of what is also called the Lake District or Lake Area. This area in Argentina reflects best the perfect relationship between man and nature. Its extended masses of water are considered the purest in the world by many international environmental organizations. The purity is not confined to the water only, but in the splendor of the entire area.
The areas we visit are much like that of the trout triangle of North America. If you have fished in western Montana, western Wyoming or southeastern Idaho you will be quite familiar with the climate of these areas. You can expect warm summer days and clear cool nights with the stars of the Southern Hemisphere shinning over-head.Species: Rainbow Trout (Oncorhyrchus mikiss), Brown Trout (Salmo Trutta), Fontinalis Brook Trout (Salvelinus Fontinalis) Land locked Salmon (Salmo salar Sebago).

Overview | Fishing | Fishing | Fishing | Wingshooting | Wingshooting | Wingshooting | View on Map Freshwater Dorado It is hard to imagine that a new area with such potential and so accessible could be available and virtually unexplored as we enter the new millenium. The Dorado emerges as a fierce game fish with a tremendous potential.
The fresh water Dorado (Salminus Maxillosus) is known in Argentina as "the tiger of the river" and is considered to be the single most challenging native fresh water game fish of South America. It is a brilliant, yellow-colored fish with a strong jaw and sharp teeth. This is a fish that does not die after spawning and never swims in the ocean. As a result it grows to enormous sizes. The Dorado is an exceptionally strong swimmer and normally ranges in size from 5 to 45 pounds, although the world record is 70 lb..
This voracious fish could accurately be described as a cross between a bull terrier and a Tarpon. It hammers top water flies with reckless abandon and immediately explodes out of the water in a series of outrageous jumps and relentless line stripping runs.
